The Weekend

This past Friday started one long weekend. After a long day at work, I got home took the dogs out and then painted the chair rails for the nursery. This took me to 8:15 at which time I had to drive to my in-laws to pick up Lisa. We did not get home until around 1AM.

Saturday started out bad, we got out the door at the right time to get to her Baby Shower, at my in-laws, on time however we hit traffic that apparently closed down the road. We must have sat for a good 30-45 minutes. However we still made it to the shower on time. Lucky for me I did not have to stick around one of my friends came up so we left and shot some pool and did some video bowling, I won everything except the first game of pool which must have been a fluke. So we went back to the shower towards the end. After some time, I finally started loading up the cars with all the fun new stuff, and started the long drive home. My sister-in-law offered to help us bring the stuff back, and then since I wasn't at the shower they went through everything again telling me who gave us what. I think all-in-all the amount of stuff in my house just doubled and the baby isn't even born yet. I finally fell asleep around 1:30.

Sunday began another busy day. I got up and nailed the chair rail up in the nursery, I am not to happy with the way it turned out, but I can be kind of a perfectionist. We then went to Babies-R-Us and picked up the stuff we didn't get at the shower. Then it was going home and putting everything together including the crib, high chair, stroller, swing, bouncer, etc. I would have to say that overall a very productive weekend, I am just getting sick of driving everywhere.

I hate accidents

Today sucked, spent a total of 5 hours on the road, 3 of them were spent trying to go 2 miles. The day isn't over yet, but at least the next time I drive, I will be driving to the bar. Anyway I believe a milk truck as in tanker or tractor trailer with a lot of milk on it ran off the road this morning, and they closed the road, it was still closed at 12:30. Unfortunately for me I didn't hear the traffic report until it was too late, so I missed the exit I could have taken. Whats worse is that Lisa got distracted by her car overheating or she would have called me to let me know. So I finally got into work at 11 instead of 8:30, oh well. Then I had to drive to center city, and got there in record time, but traffic was horrible on the way back. I basically got nothing accomplished today except for a successful demo to an existing client.

Moderate Addiction's

I cannot believe how addicted I can get to games. I know there are far worse things I could be addicted to but this is getting bad. I realized I do need to limit myself but my wife is not to happy with how much I play. Granted I could be a lot worse. At this current time I am addicted to two games Call of Duty: World At War, previously addicted to Call of Duty:Modern Warfare, will undoubtedly be addicted to Call of Duty:(Next Version Title Here). I am also addicted to a browser based game and for me these can be the worse by far. Mafia Wars through Facebook is the most recent iteration of these types of games that has caught me. I just started playing this past weekend and I find myself checking it every 25 minute's or so. My IE bar looks something like this, Tab 1 - Work Intranet, Tab 2 - Current Site I am working on, Tab 3 - Google, Tab 4 - The Blog, Tab 5 - Mafia Wars. My productivity is not really affected because of my mad multi-tasking skills but still, i have to check every so often, which reminds me....

Sorry I'm back, I had 5 points of stamina, which meant time to fight. Now I can get back to what I was talking about. I need to get this under control, but its not like I can cut off my own Internet access, thank god I do not have the Internet on my phone, I would be checking it in the middle of the night. Wait a minute, I have a baby on the way, when it wakes me up in the middle of the night I can check my status, sweet. Ok forget I ever said anything, if this is all I ever get addicted to then good for me... If any of my facebook friends read this please accept my invitation to Mafia Wars, I am not asking you to play just join.

Let the Blog Begin

The other day I created a more professional blog related to what I do on a day to day basis but I wanted to start another where I can just make random thoughts and comments about my day to day life. So here is the beginning of what is yet to come.
